The Journal of Museum Education Needs Your Help!

As was reported in the last issue of NETWORK, Museum Education Roundtable has entered a co-publishing agreement with Left Coast Press, Inc. http://www.lcoastpress.com. Museum Education Roundtable will continue to maintain the outstanding editorial control of the Journal, and Left Coast Press will ensure that the Journal arrives on schedule.

As a member, you will benefit from the guaranteed arrival time and new look of the Journal, but you will not see an increase in the cost of membership. Additionally, by handing over the publication function, the Board of Museum Education Roundtable will be able focus on other member benefits such as NETWORK, updating the website, and regional programming.

Change does not happen without a cost. Although the long-term fiscal outlook for this partnership is solid, the transition has put us in a temporary financial crunch as we have to make a downpayment in advance for this coming year's issues of the Journal. Museum Education Roundtable board members have themselves already pledged over $2,400 towards the $5000 shortfall caused by this transition. We are now asking our members who benefit from the Journal of Museum Education to contribute, as they are able, an extra $10 dollars (or more) towards closing this gap. All contributions will be gratefully acknowledged in the next issue of NETWORK.

The Finance Committee of Museum Education Roundtable is working hard to guide the Journal of Museum Education through this temporary difficulty. If you have questions please send them to our Membership Manager, Rose Stapp, at info@mer-online.org. She will forward them to the proper committee member.

Please send your check to:

You may also donate on-line at http://mer-online.org/membership/join_online.html, however, this works only for donations of $100 or more.

We thank you very much for your support!
