JME Update

 Look in your mailbox every four months and, starting this Spring, you'll find the redesigned Journal of Museum Education, the premiere publication promoting and reporting on theory, training and practice in the museum education field. In order to assure MER members and subscribers regular receipt of this scholarly journal, and with the encouragement of proactive JME Editor-in-Chief Monica Smith and the MER Board, the Board invited two museum publishers to their August retreat in Washington, DC. After reviewing proposals, the Board selected Left Coast Press as MER's new co-publishing partner.

The new format of JME will be the traditional 6' x 9' configuration, so it will fit seamlessly on your shelf with your other journals. There will also be electronic access to the journal in the near future. The first issue of the newly redesigned and expanded Journal (Vol. 31:1, Spring 2006) concentrates on Museums and Relevancy, and is guest edited by well-known museum consultant and author Gail Anderson. JME will continue to be a benefit of membership in MER.

We look forward to your feedback when we premiere the new JME and partnership with Left Coast Press at the American Association of Museums annual conference in April.
