    • Inside Egypt, a collaborative project between The Dayton Art Institute and the Dayton Public Schools, opened May 21, in the Experiencenter, the Art Institute’s interactive family gallery. The goal of the collaboration is to provide students in the Dayton Public Schools with a museum-quality arts education experience by developing an exhibition for the museum’s family gallery that will find a permanent home in the New Visions Museum of the Dayton Public Schools. The New Visions program is a school-based “sensory museum” which serves children in grades 1 and 4 who are part of the Dayton Public Schools. Developed by the education staff at The Dayton Art Institute, the exhibition will remain on view in the Experiencenter through April 2006. At that time, the majority of the show will find a permanent home at the New Visions Museum in the Dayton Public Schools. In addition, The Dayton Art Institute has produced an educator resource guide to assist Dayton teachers in connecting the Egyptian exhibition to other subject areas. Teachers will also have the opportunity to attend specially designed workshops providing them with the tools they need to integrate the arts into their classrooms.
